Verification Methods

Our goal is to get users to be physically active during the day. Compared to other similar services, the reason why we offer superior reward rate is that we do not reward inactive users.

"Providing users with fitness services that can visually confirm the effectiveness of their activities" is an important value of our project, and it was possible that a thorough verification system enables this. Compared to other similar services, our service does not reward inactive users, and we can provide better quality compensation.

"Pocket Referee" is largely divided into "centralized verification" that the platform validates and "decentralized verification" that users validate with each other.

  • Centralized verification

Since the parties to the quest verification are mainly the platform and individuals, "Individual Mode" is the main focus. Verification process is carried out by the Pocket Gym team, and guidelines for verification are presented in detail for each quest.

  • Decentralized verification

It is used for "Together Mode" quests where the success rate of the quest affects reward amount. That is why verification is done directly by the parties involved in the quest. This "decentralization" validation enables more transparent service operations.

Verification Functions

  • Image

For quests with photo verification, the app's built-in camera function is a must. You can check the date and time through the built-in camera. In addition, for captured images, only captured images that can be verified by date, time, etc. within the capture screen can be used for verification.

  • Video

Quests with image authentication use a camera built into the app just like the photo verification system.

It is used to verify continuous movements, so it is mainly used to film exercise movements. Compared to image verification, there is less possibility of cheating, and above all, it is possible to measure the user's exercise more objectively, so it can be actively used for quests with relatively high rewards. In particular, the function of watching the coach's video in the exercise quest and recording your exercise is a function developed by our team.

  • Motion Recognition(Development scheduled)

Motion recognition function refers to the device camera recognizing the skeletal shape of the body and determining the accuracy of exercise movements. This feature was released three years ago and is still widely used in other fitness apps. However, it was not activated due to problems such as insufficiency in recognition rate, a time-consuming process, and a decrease in screen visibility. Recently, however, the technology has been released as an open-source, and many developers have supplemented the problems.

Although our platform has a video recording function, this function is also currently under development with the aim of launching the service because it has advantages such as more accurate posture measurement, additional gamification function, and automation of verification.

Samsung Health API verification

  • Samsung Health App & Galaxy watch

Result information such as walking, running, and riding provided within the Samsung Health app is used as a means of verification through SDK connection. The result information such as heart rate and sleep score provided by the Galaxy Watch is used as a means of verification through the SDK connection.
